About us:

Tetra Design Works is Taylor and Jenny, a husband and wife team who design and create modern furniture, home wares and sculptures from their studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Taylor and Jenny grew up in Santa Fe and lived in several states before starting their business in San Francisco in 2014. They started in a shared maker space, while Taylor was also apprenticing for a furniture maker.  Later that year they moved back to Santa Fe, where they have been making modern furniture, home goods and sculptural art pieces for the last 10 years.

Describe your Art:

We design and build southwest modern furniture, home goods(cutting boards, trays, bowls) and sculptures using quality hardwoods.  In many of our pieces, we inlay southwest turquoise into the natural imperfections of the wood.  Much of our furniture is a combination of wood and metal.  We are currently working on a line of furniture, that can be made to order in various dimensions, wood types, base designs and powder coating colors. 

Process:

We start our process with sketches and computer models to help formulate our ideas. From there, we hand select our wood at the local lumber yard where we sort through the stacks of rough sawn woods to find the perfect boards for our projects.  We also weld our own metal bases for our furniture.  Once we finish welding, our bases are then powder coated by a local company.
